Monthly inflation has fallen from 8.7% in the year to May 2023 to 7.9% in the year to June 2023 according to the Office for National Statistics. This means that prices are still high and continuing to rise, just a little more slowly than before. The direction of travel is right and inflation is now at its lowest level for more than a year.
